About Us

Colorado Firecamp was founded on the simple promise of “keeping quality in qualification” of wildland firefighters. Through training, we prepare firefighters to be ready, willing and able to do their job and return home safely when it's done. And through advocacy, we seek to change the wildland fire service, to keep the promises — repeatedly made and repeatedly broken — after every firefighter fatality.

In memory of Jeff Allen and Shane Heath, Indianola Helitack Crew Members, lost in the Cramer Fire near here on July 22, 2003. This will be a lasting place of remembrance and gratitude for their lives and service, a place for wildland firefighters to reflect in their memory, and a reminder to all who are involved with firefighting - from those on the line to those up the line - to find a way to bring everyone back safely from every fire.

"...and a reminder to all who are involved with firefighting — from those on the line to those up the line — to find a way to bring everyone back safely from every fire."
