Dear _________,

Thank you for enrolling in the Fire Instructor I class at Colorado Firecamp, August 21-24th, 2008. There are 2 pre-course assignments for the class:

  1. Prepare a PowerPoint™ presentation with exactly 3 slides, one each to answer the questions: Who are you? Where are you from? Why are you taking this class? Each student will give their presentation at the start of class.

The presentation can be as simple or as fancy as you want, just as long as it answers the 3 questions. Use whatever words, pictures, sounds and animations you want. Get whatever computer assistance you need. Please e-mail your presentation to me before the class, or bring it on a disk or jump drive.

  1. Select one lesson plan from your department’s training library or download one from the internet. Bring the lesson plan, audio/visual aids, and all related policies or procedures adopted by your department.

Please bring a laptop computer to the class for evening assignments (we have one loaner.) We do have free Wi-Fi internet access and a printer available. Class will begin at 1:00 pm on Thursday, August 21st, 2008 with lunch served at 12:30 pm.

If you have any questions, please contact me at (719) 539-9329 or by e-mail, learn@coloradofirecamp.com.

Sincerely,

Kent Maxwell
